Shade lovers
We carry a number of shrubs for the shady spot. Rhododendrons are a Northwest favorite. As we have an abundance of shade and acidic soil in the Pacific Northwest, they’re easy to grow, hardy, and tolerant. Rhodies enjoy a rich, acidic, and well-drained soil. There are nearly a hundred varieties of rhodies of every color, size and leaf texture. Camellias are another great evergreen for the shade.  These garden delights bloom for months on end in the winter with big soft pink, white or red flowers. Aucuba is a tropical looking shade plant that can handle the darkest of corners. They come in dark green and variegated forms and the female varieties produce large bright red berries in  winter.
