INDOOR PLANTS

As you walk through our garden center to the greenhouse, you'll see hundreds of house plants for the indoor gardener. Year-round we stock our greenhouse with many varieties of indoor foliage and flowering plants. Each January, Bakerview Nursery & Garden Center celebrates indoor gardening month with discounts on indoor plants and pots, free seminars, and an indoor plant repotting service.

TROPICAL FOLIAGE

With a wide variety of tropical foliage plants in sizes from 2” starter plants on up to 8-10’ indoor trees, you'll enjoy our unusual specimens. We have tabletop plants such as Chinese Evergreen, Dieffenbachia, Prayer Plant, and table ferns. You'll be tempted by our hanging tropical foliage such as Pothos, Philodendron, Grape Ivy, Boston Fern, Spider Plants and Asparagus Fern. We also have Schefflera, Weeping Fig, Rubber Plants, Dragon Tree Dracaena, Joshua Tree, Palms, and Bananas.

We also carry a selection of low light indoor plants for offices, restaurants, desktops, restrooms and other low light locations.

Bakerview Nursery & Garden Center is the premier local supplier of quality indoor flowering plants. We typically offer colorful African violets, Cyclamen, Kalanchoe / Calandiva, Begonia, Gloxinia, Azaleas, Gardenias, Bird of Paradise, and indoor flowering bulbs. We also carry indoor flowering hanging plants like Lipstick plant, Goldfish plant, Plectranthus, and Jasmine.

ORCHIDS

Not imported from Hawaii or California, our indoor tropical orchids are locally grown and of the highest quality. In addition to eliminating transportation to Bellingham, locally grown orchids are better acclimated to our unique Pacific Northwest climate.

We typically carry a wide assortment of orchids from the low light Phalaenopsis to large winter-blooming Cymbidiums. We also offer orchids in bulk order quantity discounts for weddings and other special occasions.

CACTI AND SUCCULENTS

We always have a large selection of common and unusual indoor cacti and succulents. For the novice gardener to the cacti collector, there’s something for everyone with a sunny window.

AIR PLANTS (Tillandsia)

These amazing and unique plants absorb water and nutrients from the air around them and do not require soil. They can be wired, glued, hung, added to terrariums, or even put inside a shell or piece of drift wood. Air plants have brightly colored flowers and foliage ranging from hot pink to burgundy! These are typically available during fall, winter, and early spring.

We carry all the necessary plants, rocks, charcoal, and even lights and foggers for creating your own tropical terrarium.

Follow these simple steps!

1. Find a Clear Glass container, bowl, or tank with a lid or without. Thrift stores are a great place to find these at a reasonable price, we carry small and medium fIish bowls that can be used as well.

2. Add a layer of course sand or pebbles for drainage

3. Add a layer of activated charcoal to filter the air

4. Add a layer of moss to help keep soil separate from the charcoal and pebbles

5. Create landscape with soil, wood, and rocks

6. Plant seeds and plants

7. Add decorative stones, crystals, ornaments, etc
